That is my complaint. W are basically left in the dark about the whole ordeal. We have to contact them for information when they could easily send a mass email/text informing us of the current activity dealing with the transition.
I'll be ok as long as my current little phone holds up.
Would just like for them to notify us officially of what's going on!
You'll shoot your eye out.

The AT&T network is already up and running. When you receive your phone you can activate it and use it. There is a cut off date that you must be using your AT&T phone and can no longer be on the Alltel phone. That could possibly be in January, but you will be able to use your new phone as soon as you get it.
Just curious but how do you know this red66?
I read a lot on Howard Forums about the merger. The eastern part of Virginia and a couple more areas have already transitioned and they were able to activate and use their phones as soon as they received them. If you read a few of the threads on there discussing the merger you will learn a lot. There is a guy on there with the username CClay25 that works for an Alltel store in an AT&T transition market so he has a lot of official information and has been right on nearly everything so far. Also if you look on the AT&T Coverage Map for this area and click on show Mobile Broadband Coverage then you will notice that the network is already turned on and there have also been several reports of current AT&T users getting 3G service throughout the area and this has never happened before.
My phones have shipped, same language as the rest of you got from USPS... supposedly shipped on 12-12..

Mine says that My electronic shipping info was received on Dec. 15th too. Maybe the mail truck hasn't got to Wise Co yet?
Haven't received mine yet and called the rep. Apparently, if your order still says accepted in Ft. Worth, it got shipped back to the warehouse for some ungodly reason and you need to call the reps and get it straightened out. I just got off the phone and they are overnighting my phones. Guaranteed to be here tomorrow. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE THEM WHEN THEY ARE DELIVERED.
